Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka has denied backing Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Soyinka denounced as fake a social media comment tying him to Tinubu’s support.
According to a statement from his media office, Nigerians should reject rumors that Soyinka criticized political parties and leaders.
“Soyinka did NOT make such a comment at any time or on any occasion.
The statement continues, “It is merely the product of peddlers of fake news and falsity who profit from misinformation to obtain political advantages.”
