Afia Schwarzenegger has urged Ghanaians to honor exceptional people while they are still alive, rather than waiting till they die.
Afia uploaded a video in which she rants about how Ghanaians wait for someone to die before praising them.
Her remarks came in the aftermath of footballer Christian Atsu’s death in the recent earthquake in Turkey.
Following his death, various reports appeared indicating the number of charity projects he was involved in that he kept hidden from the public view.
As a result, Atsu has been hailed as a hero.
On that note, Schwarzenegger stated that Atsu should have been honored before he died.
She stated that Ghanaians should learn to honor our heroes when they are present, citing Asamoah Gyan, Fadda Dickson, and Bola Ray as examples of heroes deserving of recognition.
