In delivering his acceptance address, President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu said that his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, will no longer serve as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Remember that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been proclaimed the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
According to the results read out by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 to defeat his closest rivals and candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP who scored 6,984, 520 and 6,101,533 respectively
However, Tinubu declared that his wife will no longer be a senator, but will instead serve as his housewife and the first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Oluremi Tinubu, who has three children with Tinubu, served as the first lady of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007. She is a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2011 – till date.
