JUST IN: Gunmen assassinate an Ebonyi traditional monarch.

Gunmen suspected of being political thugs assassinated His Majesty Eze Igboke Ewa, Head of the Ezza Traditional Rulers Council in Ebonyi State.

On Monday evening, February 27, 2023, the victim was attacked and killed in his home.

Uchenna Orji, the Commissioner for Information in Ebonyi State, made the announcement on Monday.

He blamed the heinous act on opposition party members who were dissatisfied with the results of the Saturday elections.

“The Governor is aware that a number of contestants have been making inflammatory and inciting statements concerning the election results in Ebonyi State,” the statement adds.
